In SMEET we live the policy that Health and Safety is an essential element and integral part of our overall business plan. It is our acknowledged guidance, our aim and objective that the health and safety as well as the welfare of all SMEET’s employees are protected to the best possible degree by the implementation, management and monitoring of practices and procedures designed to achieve those objectives.
Our established H&S management systems, has the overall aim and objective to:
- Promote H&S as an integral part of managing the business,
- Identify the hazards to employees and third parties affected by the undertaking, and control the attendant risks adequately,
- Maintain healthy and safe working conditions, including the provision of safe plant and equipment,
- Work through continuous improvement to prevent accidents and work related ill health,
- Ensure employees are competent to do their work and provide them with appropriate and adequate training,
- Ensure the safe transport, storage, handling and use of hazardous substances,
- Ensure that pedestrians and factory transport can circulate in a safe manner,
- Consult with employees on health and safety issues affecting their wellbeing, giving them necessary information, instruction, and supervision,
- Develop, implement, monitor, and review safe systems of work and safe operating procedures,
- Review and revise the safety policy at regular intervals.
SMEET management is requisite to set and maintain a high standard, and to lead that by a personal example. Employees are instructed to follow with the company’s Health and Safety rules and procedures. Such policy includes adherence to a safe systems of work, safe operating procedures, product safety, and appropriate precautions to minimize damage from such accidents.
Through the implementation of the Policy, SMEET has the prime responsibility to promote a high level of management ownership and to implement the stated corporate objectives. |
